EU Dedicated servers in Amsterdam and Bucharest

European dedicated server in Amsterdam or Bucharest, by the hour or month

A European dedicated server from Primcast is one physical machine, yours alone, standing in the Netherlands or Romania, ready about 30 minutes after we approve your payment. Every machine in both halls is priced in euro, and you can keep it for an hour or for years.

Two halls, measured from your browser
AMS Amsterdam Iron Mountain, Haarlem From €42.98 a month By the hour €0.0765/hr Round trip --
BUC Bucharest Feper Business Center From €9 a month By the hour €0.0160/hr Round trip --

The round trip is timed from this page to each hall. A dash means it has not answered yet.

01

Amsterdam or Bucharest: choose the hall closer to your users

Place the server near the bulk of your visitors. Amsterdam is a short hop from the UK, France, Belgium and Germany. Bucharest has the wider choice of hardware: we build 17 processor lines there, against 6 in Amsterdam. If you are not sure, look at the round trip on the board above: it is your own connection, timed live.

More about the Bucharest hall

02

European dedicated servers to order today

Only machines racked in Amsterdam and Bucharest appear below, each priced in euro. Take one exactly as listed and you can log in about 30 minutes once we approve the payment. Want other memory, disks or a faster port? Build your own server: a build to your own spec is ready in 4 to 24 hours and carries a single €29 setup charge.

03

What an EU dedicated server changes for you

EU bare metal is about more than distance. Here is what changes on your side when the machine sits in the Netherlands or Romania.

Your data stays inside the EU

The server and its disks are in an EU member state, and nothing is copied anywhere else unless you copy it. GDPR duties stay with you, but you can give your customers a clear answer when they ask where their data lives.

Priced in euro, VAT shown before you pay

A server in either hall is priced and invoiced in euro by one of our Romanian companies, so there is no exchange rate to guess. If you buy as a consumer in the EU, your own country's VAT is added, and the order page names the rate and the country before you pay.

By the hour, or month to month

Run a listed server by the hour for a test or a short job, or keep it monthly, with no contract to sign. Prepay a quarter, half a year or a full year and the bill drops by 5%, 10% or 15%.

A port that is yours

Your port is not shared with any other customer at the access switch, and nothing meters the traffic that goes through it. When the included speed is not enough, pick a faster port when you configure the server.

What comes with every server, and what does not

Included

  • Full root or administrator access, with the operating system you choose installed.
  • A free remote console wherever the hardware has one (HPE iLO, Dell iDRAC or the server's BMC).
  • Failed hardware swapped within 24 hours under the free support plan, or within 2 to 4 hours under a paid one.
  • A credit under our service agreement whenever the network is down for more than fifteen minutes.
  • Help over live chat from our AI assistant: it replies within seconds, sees your account, can run checks on your machine and passes you to a colleague the moment you ask.

Not included

  • DDoS protection. We do not sell it with these servers.
  • Hourly billing on a machine built to order. Hourly rates are for a server taken exactly as listed; a custom build is billed monthly.
  • A long contract. You can cancel with five business days' notice.

Questions before you order a server in Europe

01Where are Primcast's European servers?

In two halls inside the European Union. In the Netherlands, we rack servers at Iron Mountain in Haarlem, just outside Amsterdam. In Romania, they sit in the Bucharest hall we built ourselves at the Feper Business Center. Our US locations are listed on the data centers page.

02How much does a cheap European dedicated server cost?

Our European servers start at €9 a month. Each hall has its own starting price, shown on the board up top and read from the same list you order from. Every price is in euro, and a consumer in the EU sees their VAT added before paying.

03Does a server in the EU make me GDPR compliant?

Not on its own. GDPR is about how you collect and handle personal data, and that part stays your job. What an EU server does is keep the data on a machine in an EU member state, so you never have to explain a transfer outside the EU for the server itself.

04Is VAT added to a server in the Netherlands or Romania?

If you buy as a consumer in the EU, yes. The invoice comes from one of our Romanian companies and adds your own country's VAT. Before you pay, the order page shows the rate, the country and the total with VAT, and your billing address sets the exact rate.

05How quickly will my EU server be ready?

Take a server exactly as listed and you can log in about 30 minutes once we approve the payment: the operating system is already on it and your login details wait in the control panel. One built to your spec needs 4 to 24 hours.

06Is there hourly billing for servers in Europe?

Yes, for any server taken exactly as listed. That suits a load test, a migration window or a short project. The hourly rate of each hall's cheapest machine is on the board up top.

07Which is faster for my visitors, Amsterdam or Bucharest?

The one with the shorter round trip from where they are. The board at the top times your own connection to both halls, and each hall has a speed test and an address to ping. As a rule of thumb, Western Europe and the UK are closer to Amsterdam, and South-Eastern Europe is closer to Bucharest.

08Can I pay for a European server with Bitcoin?

Yes. Servers in both halls can be paid in Bitcoin and other major cryptocurrencies, as well as by card. Our page on paying with crypto lists the nine coins and the networks we take them on.
