Podcast hosting
Radio podcast hosting for the shows you already make
Radio podcast hosting at Primcast turns a show you put on air into a podcast people can follow on Apple Podcasts, Spotify and the other podcast apps. The episodes are kept on our servers and the feed comes from your radio panel, so there is no second podcast host to sign up for.
Podcasting comes with Premium and Platinum at no extra charge. The free plan does not include it.
What you get
Turn radio shows into podcasts without rebuilding them
Any program in your station's Programs tab can be published as a podcast. The show stays the show; the podcast is the version people play when it suits them.
Clean episodes
Each episode becomes one MP3 without its station breaks. The station IDs and ads that play on air stay on air.
Four ways to make one
From a file in your library, from several tracks in a row, from a long file split by its cue sheet, or from a live show you recorded.
A podcast RSS feed for radio
Your feed carries the tags Apple Podcasts, Spotify and Podcasting 2.0 apps read. Submit it once and every new episode follows by itself.
Released when you say
Publish now or set a release time in your station's own time zone. Drafts stay out of the feed, and an episode with an expiry date leaves it on that day.
Podcast download stats you can trust
Counted the way the IAB podcast measurement guidelines describe, with crawlers and repeat fetches left out and no listener's IP address stored.
A page and a player
Every podcast gets a public page with its episodes and subscribe buttons, plus a player you embed on your own website with one piece of code.
Getting started
Publish a radio show to Spotify and Apple Podcasts in four steps
Everything happens in the radio section of your Primcast dashboard. There is no extra account to open.
- 01
Pick the show
Open a program in the Programs tab and publish it as a podcast. A show with no on-air times works too: it never airs and lives only as a podcast.
- 02
Describe the podcast
Add square artwork between 1400 and 3000 pixels, the Apple Podcasts categories, the language and the owner's name and email. Apple and Spotify send their verification to that email.
- 03
Make the first episode
Choose the audio, then add show notes, season and episode numbers, chapters and a release time. With "Record live shows" switched on, a recorded show becomes an episode in one click.
- 04
Submit the feed
Links in the panel take you to Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube Music, Amazon Music and Audible, iHeartRadio, Pocket Casts and Podcast Index, which passes it on to Overcast, Fountain, Podverse and others.
The settings, episode by episode and show by show
- Each episode
- Show notes with clickable links, season and episode numbers, a type (full, trailer or bonus), an explicit flag, its own artwork, chapters for Apple Podcasts, Pocket Casts and Podcasting 2.0 apps, a transcript link, and a release date and time.
- The show
- Apple Podcasts categories and subcategories, newest episodes first or in order for a serial, owner name and email, copyright, website, language, explicit, and a support or donation link that Podcasting 2.0 apps show as a funding button.
- Advanced
- Lock the feed, mark the podcast complete, hide it from Apple, or move it to a new feed address.
- Download stats
- One app on one device that fetches at least a minute of an episode in a day, or all of a shorter one, counts once. See them per episode, per day, by country, by app such as Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Overcast or Pocket Casts, and by device, over 7, 30, 90 or 365 days.
- Podcast page
- Artwork, description and every episode with its notes and chapters, a player that skips back 15 seconds and forward 30 and changes speed, subscribe buttons for Apple Podcasts, Overcast, Pocket Casts, Castro and AntennaPod, a copy-RSS button and your support link.
- Hosting
- Episodes are stored and served from Primcast servers along with your station, so nothing else needs paying for or setting up.

Radio CDN, on Platinum
Your listeners hear you from the server closest to them
Your station lives in New York or Bucharest. On Platinum, each listener connects to the closest of our five cities instead, and so does your encoder. Every one of those servers pulls a single copy of your stream, however many people are listening there.
One link for every listener
Share your station's CDN link. Whoever opens it is answered by our server closest to where they are, and everybody listening through that city shares a single copy of your stream.
Your encoder stops at the closest server
Use the Nearest server settings and that server relays your show to your station's own server. Your password, your DJs' hours and your show all work exactly as they do now.
A server that goes quiet is skipped
We check every server every 10 seconds. One that misses 2 checks in a row is taken out, and anyone who reconnects is sent to the next closest city.
An audience on several continents? Platinum puts a server near each of them
Nobody has to reach across an ocean to hear you: each listener, and your encoder, connects in or near their own region. When we measured it, sound started 0.25–0.7 seconds after the player connected.

Questions
Before your first episode goes out
Which Primcast plans include podcast hosting?
Premium and Platinum, with nothing added to the price of the plan. The free plan has no podcasting; moving a free station up to Premium switches it on for the same station.
Do I still need a separate podcast host?
No. Your episodes are kept and served on our servers with the rest of your station, and the RSS feed is published from your radio panel. Apple Podcasts, Spotify and the other apps read that feed directly.
How do I get my podcast onto Spotify and Apple Podcasts?
Submit your feed to each of them once, using the links in your panel. Use an owner email you can read, because that is where Apple and Spotify send their verification. After that, every episode you save appears in the apps by itself a few minutes after its release.
Will the station IDs and ads from the broadcast end up in my podcast?
No. Each episode is made into a single MP3 with the station breaks taken out, so listeners hear the show and not the on-air links around it.
Can a live show become an episode?
Yes. Turn on "Record live shows" and every live show is saved to your Recordings folder. Pick a recording and it becomes an episode in one click, ready for notes, chapters and a release time.
Can I run a podcast that never airs on the station?
Yes. Give a program no on-air times and it is never broadcast, only published as a podcast, with its own feed and page like any other.
How are podcast downloads counted?
Following the IAB podcast measurement guidelines: one app on one device fetching at least a minute of an episode, or all of a shorter one, counts once a day. Crawlers and repeat fetches do not count, and we store no listener's IP address.
Can I put the podcast on my own website?
Yes. Each podcast has an embeddable player: copy its iframe code from the panel and paste it into your site. There is also a public podcast page with every episode and subscribe buttons, which you can link to as it is.
Give every show a second life as a podcast
Choose Premium and publish your first show from the Programs tab. If you also want 320 Kbps sound, more room for music and guest links, start on Platinum.
