The host
Memory first: a hypervisor host is bought by how much it holds at once. The processor generation is small print under the price. The cheapest line that holds everything you ask for is chosen, and you can pick a newer one if you would rather.
Registered ECC. Proxmox keeps a little over a gigabyte for itself; ZFS wants more.
Hardware RAID 1 sees one disk. The ZFS mirror is laid down by the installer where the line offers software RAID. Plain disks are for your own pool.
One per guest that must be reached from outside; guests behind NAT need none. The first is included.
Whichever door you came through
Proxmox VE 9 from the 9.2 auto-install ISO with an answer file we write: your hostname, the primary address, the room's timezone, a root password that reaches you by email. Root over SSH, the console on port 8006, vmbr0 on the port. About 30 minutes after approval if the machine is racked; 4 to 24 hours built to order.
The port is a plain access VLAN: no MAC binding, no shut-down when a second MAC appears. Bridge a guest on vmbr0 with one of your extra addresses and it works as on a LAN you own. One IPv4 and IPv6 included; 2 more from $6 a month on the widest line, the ladder to 8, more with a stated use. Unmetered at every port speed. The bridged, routed and NAT layouts are written up step by step, with the files to copy, in putting a public IP address on a Proxmox virtual machine.
Every rack-server line exposes its HPE iLO or Dell iDRAC: remote KVM, power, virtual media and logs, on the cheapest line as on the dearest. The firewall rule that swallows SSH and 8006 becomes ten minutes on the local terminal. Mount your own ISO and reinstall from scratch whenever you like; a failed part is replaced within four hours. Worth doing first: keep 8006 to your own addresses and turn on two-factor sign-in, which Proxmox supports with TOTP, WebAuthn and recovery keys.

A hypervisor host is bought by memory and by how many guests it holds at once. The lines here run generations other hosts retired; every core is yours, none is licensed, and the difference is the number on the slip.
The small Moonshot cartridges have no console of their own and one small stick of memory; the Ampere line is not covered by the x86 image. This page only offers the rack-server lines, and the worksheet cannot pick anything else.

Yes. Proxmox VE 9 is one of the 33 operating-system images you pick at checkout, and one of the 32 that are free: no licence line on the invoice and nothing charged per socket or per core. It is installed unattended from the official Proxmox auto-install image, so the machine arrives with root over SSH, the web console at https://your-ip:8006 and a vmbr0 bridge on its port.
Yes, bridged. The switch port your server sits on carries a plain access VLAN with no MAC binding, so a VM on vmbr0 with its own MAC and one of your extra IPv4 addresses works as it would on your own LAN. Extra addresses are in the same subnet with the same gateway. Routed or NAT setups work too if you prefer them; they are not required. One IPv4 and IPv6 are included with every server. On the widest line, 2 addresses are $6 a month and the ladder runs to 8; each line's exact ladder is on its order page. More than the ladder is requested in chat with a stated use for each address, which the registries require.
Both are sold. The embedded controller gives a hardware RAID 1 mirror the installer sees as one disk and formats ext4 on LVM. Where a line offers software RAID, choosing it makes our installer lay down a ZFS mirror exactly as Proxmox recommends, since Proxmox advises against ZFS on top of a caching RAID controller. Plain disks (JBOD) are for a buyer who wants to build the pool. If the line you want has no software-RAID option, ask on chat before ordering and we set the mirror up by hand.

No. Proxmox VE is licensed under the GNU AGPL v3 and every feature, including clustering, HA and live migration, is available without a subscription. A subscription buys access to Proxmox's enterprise package repository and support tickets, from EUR 120 per CPU socket per year at Proxmox's published 2026 prices; you buy it from Proxmox and enter the key in the web console. Without one the no-subscription repository works, and Proxmox describes it as not recommended for production.

Yes. Proxmox needs at least three nodes for a reliable quorum, and cluster traffic wants the nodes in the same city. Order the machines in one location and tell us on chat that they will cluster, so they are racked together. Nested virtualisation is a setting you enable yourself on the host; it is off by default in Proxmox and nested guests cannot be live-migrated.

Proxmox itself, your VMs, backups and cluster configuration are yours to administer. If you want somebody inside the hypervisor rather than beside it, that is a managed service and priced as one.
About 30 minutes after the payment is approved for a machine already racked; the Proxmox install runs unattended inside that window. A machine built to your specification takes 4 to 24 hours. Payment and identity checks happen before either clock starts and are the part that varies.
