    You lock yourself out with a firewall rule, and open the machine’s own console instead of a ticket.

    Every rack server and blade we rack exposes its HPE iLO, Dell iDRAC or Supermicro BMC from your dashboard: the screen, the keyboard, the power button, virtual media and the hardware log, published a minute after you add a console login. Ten minutes on the local terminal, and the rule is gone. Reinstalls are unlimited and need no ticket either.

    A disk in the mirror reports it is dying. You telephone; the clock starts.

    The agreement guarantees the failed part replaced within four hours of that call or chat. At 03:58 the drive is swapped hot and the array rebuilds behind your application, which never stopped. Had we missed the four hours, the credit is on a published ladder: 10 per cent of the month at four to six hours, rising to the whole month past twenty-four, claimed within seven business days. We hold spare parts for every line we sell.

    The working set outgrew 64 GB. 128 GB goes in, in the window you chose.

    Memory rungs run from 16 GB to 2 TB across the family and are added to the machine you have: same address, same invoice with one line changed, same operating system. Registered ECC, which is what these platforms take, so a flipped bit is corrected and logged rather than handed to your database.

    The second socket, empty since day 0, gets its processor.

    On the two-socket lines the second processor is added later without a migration. 33 processor options across the family, previous-generation silicon on purpose: every core is yours and none is licensed to a hypervisor, and the age is where the price comes from. A job that will not split across machines goes to the four-socket lines.

  7. Month 9 · 02:00the network

    Forty minutes without the network, and the credit is on a published schedule.

    More than fifteen consecutive minutes unavailable earns one day of credit for every hour that month, up to a whole month, claimed within seven business days and paid on the next invoice. Planned maintenance is announced by email at least two business days ahead and does not count. The agreement states no uptime percentage, so this page prints none; it states the credit, which is the part you can hold us to.

    The twelfth invoice reads like the first, and you decide what happens next.

    No introductory rate expired and nothing stepped up at renewal. Move to a twelve-month cycle for 15 per cent off, stay monthly, or give five business days’ written notice and stop. Nothing on the machine changed hands: the port was never metered, support was never billed, and the room’s power and cooling were the building’s job, published on its own page.

Hardware is HPE on most of these lines, with Dell and Supermicro units on the Xeon E5 and Xeon Scalable lines and Dell on the EPYC line. Every line sells a hardware RAID controller; the HPE Smart Array parts on the blade lines carry a flash-backed write cache. If the protected cache is a hard requirement, say so at order time and the machine is allocated to match.

Before you order

The questions a business asks, answered in full.

On the page rather than behind a sales call, so you can settle a doubt in ten seconds — and so an assistant answering the same question somewhere else quotes our facts instead of guessing at them. One thing first: this is a hardware line, the blade and rack half of the catalogue, and the invoice for its base model reads Enterprise Dedicated Server. It is not a tier of a streaming plan.

What makes a dedicated server “enterprise” here?

The hardware, not the price tag. 9 of our 18 dedicated lines are blade or rack servers rather than compact cartridges, and every one of them sells a hardware RAID controller with its own row in the catalogue, takes registered ECC server memory in rungs up to 2 TB, has one to 4 processor sockets and hot-swap drive bays, and comes with a management controller of its own on every rack server and blade we rack (HPE iLO, Dell iDRAC or a Supermicro BMC), published from your dashboard. The four-hour hardware guarantee in the service level agreement covers every server we sell; what the compact Moonshot cartridges at the cheap end of the catalogue lack is the rest of that list, which is why this page does not offer them.

What does an enterprise dedicated server cost?

The cheapest complete machine in the family is $51.86 a month (AMD Opteron 6366 HE Hexadeca Core 1.80 GHz · 16 GB DDR3 · 1 × SATA 500 GB · 500 Mbps), and the everyday shape — two processors, mirrored disks, an unmetered port and one address — starts at $84.87 a month (2 × Intel Xeon E5-2620 v4 · 32 GB DDR4 · 2 × SATA-SSD 240 GB (RAID 1) · 1 Gbps unmetered · 1 IPv4). None of these lines carries a setup charge on the machine itself. The worksheet on this page asks the checkout’s own quote engine for the exact figure of whatever you describe. Prices are monthly with no contract, the same figure in month forty as in month one, and 3, 6 and 12-month cycles take 5, 10 and 15 per cent off.

What happens when a part fails at three in the morning?

The agreement guarantees a failed component replaced within four hours of that report, and it pays out on a published ladder when we miss: 10 per cent of the month’s charge at 4 to 6 hours, 20 at 6 to 10, 40 at 10 to 14, 60 at 14 to 18, 80 at 18 to 24 and the whole month beyond 24 hours. Drives are hot-swap, so a disk in a mirror changes with the machine running. We hold spare parts for every line we sell. Four conditions, so you are not surprised: the clock starts on a telephone call or a chat, not on a ticket or an email; the four hours cover the part, not reinstalling your software afterwards; the credit is claimed within seven business days of month end; and we may ask for the login we troubleshoot with. On the network side, more than fifteen consecutive minutes unavailable earns one day of credit for every hour that month, up to a whole month; the agreement says the network is designed for 100% availability and guarantees no percentage, so this page prints none. Scheduled maintenance is announced by email at least two business days ahead and is excluded from both clocks.

Is the RAID card’s cache protected?

On the HPE Smart Array controllers that fill the blade lines, yes: HPE fits them with a flash-backed write cache, so a write the card has acknowledged survives a power cut the array had not finished committing. That is the difference between hardware RAID on a server and a software mirror on a desktop board, and it is why a database that cannot afford to lose a committed write belongs on one of these. A handful of units carry a Dell boot-mirror card or an HPE host bus adapter instead, so if a protected write cache is a hard requirement say so when you order and the machine is allocated to match. RAID levels on offer are 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, depending on the controller and its bay count; the worksheet only offers a level on a controller that really sells it.

How many IPv4 addresses can one machine have, and is port 25 open?

This is the line our own sales desk steers people to when they need more than a couple of addresses. One IPv4 and IPv6 are included; on the widest lines the order page sells 2 for $6, 4 for $18, 6 for $30, 8 for $42 a month, and more are added from the second month on request with a stated use for each, which the registries require. Extra addresses sit in the same subnet with the same gateway. Port 25 is open and outbound mail is allowed; an address is closed for outbound 25 only if it is listed for actually sending spam, for thirty days, and addresses are checked against the public blocklists before they are assigned. Reverse DNS is yours to edit in the dashboard, per address, without a ticket.

Is RAID a backup?

No, and we would rather say so here than in a support ticket. A mirror or a parity array keeps the machine running when a drive fails; it does nothing against a deleted table, a bad deploy or ransomware, because it faithfully mirrors those too. We sell no backup product and take no snapshots of a bare-metal machine. The usual answers are a second machine, a storage server in another room as the backup target, or an extra drive in the same chassis for a local copy; all three are ordinary catalogue lines.

Is the port dedicated or shared, and is 10 Gbps really 10 Gbps?

The port and its rated speed are yours alone: nobody else is on it and nothing meters it. Beyond the switch the transit is shared with every other customer in the room, as on any network, and it is what the network side of the service agreement covers. A 10 Gbps port is $529 a month on the widest lines and the ladder runs to 100 Gbps; if you plan to fill one for hours at a time say so at order time so the room is chosen with that in mind. Can the machine grow without a migration?

Yes. Memory rungs, extra disks, a faster port and, on the two-socket lines, a second processor are added to the machine you already have, in a window you choose, with the same address and the same invoice. The operating system stays. Growing past what one chassis holds is where the four-socket lines or a second machine come in.

Which operating systems, and is Windows Server included?

33 images are installed in one click at checkout, 32 of them at no charge: Ubuntu, Debian, AlmaLinux, CentOS, Proxmox VE and VMware vSphere Hypervisor (ESXi) 7 and 8 among them. Windows Server to 2025 is on every line in this family as a priced licence: Standard $20.79 a month plus $2.59 per core, Datacenter $141.49 a month plus $17.69 per core, Essentials $19.79 a month, itemised on the order page before you pay. A SQL Server machine has its own page. You can also mount your own ISO through the console’s virtual media and install anything else.

Is the bandwidth really unmetered?

Yes, at every port speed. A gigabit port is included on most of these lines and can be raised to 100 Gbps for a fixed monthly amount (10 Gbps is $529). There is no transfer allowance to exceed and no overage line on any invoice; the port speed is the only thing you pay for.

How is it delivered, and how fast?

About 30 minutes after the payment is approved for a machine already racked in the room you chose; the operating system installs unattended inside that window. A machine built to your specification takes 4 to 24 hours when the parts are ours, longer if something has to be bought in, and the order page says which applies. Payment and identity checks happen before either clock starts and are the part that varies: usually a couple of hours, occasionally days. Your first email carries the root password and the addresses; the console is published from your dashboard once you add a console login. What do you support, and what is mine?

We run the hardware, the network, the console, the operating-system reinstalls and the replacements, around the clock by telephone, live chat, ticket and email, included with every machine at no charge. What runs on the machine — your application, database, backups and users — is yours to administer. If you want somebody inside the operating system as well as beside it, that is a managed service and priced as one.

How do we pay, and can we get proper invoices?

Card, PayPal, ACH and cryptocurrency, monthly in advance, with an itemised invoice for every charge in the dashboard and by email, each line named. European rooms are invoiced in euros, with VAT where it applies. Terms of 3, 6 and 12 months are prepaid at the discount, and a 12-month renewal invoice can be issued ahead of time for a finance team that plans by the year; for anything a purchase order needs, ask on chat before ordering and you get a straight answer. Several machines at once are quoted together: say how many on chat, or telephone sales on +1-646-201-4076. There is no contract to sign and no minimum term, and either side can end the service with five business days’ written notice before the cycle ends; where a software option carries a one-off setup charge it is itemised on the order page before you pay, never added afterwards. A colleague can be given their own dashboard login to your account.

Where can the server be, and does the room matter?

New York, Miami, San Francisco, Amsterdam and Bucharest. Not every line is stocked in every room, so the worksheet shows which rooms carry the machine you describe. European rooms are billed in euros at the same numerals. Each room has a public speed test and our looking glass runs traceroutes from our own edge, so you can measure the path from your office before you order.
