Every rung of our port ladder, and what each one actually buys, in one control. Drag it to 10 Gbps and read the four figures underneath: what the port costs, how many people can watch at once, how much data fits in a month, and what that works out at per terabyte. Nothing on this page is a claim you have to take on trust — the prices come from the same catalogue the checkout bills from, and the rest is division.
The ladder, and where it bends
Quoted from the Intel Xeon Silver / Gold line, the one whose ladder reaches 100 Gbps; an average across lines would be a price nobody could order. Read the last column and the argument for ten gigabits makes itself.

The bend is between the fourth and fifth rows. Five to ten costs $70; ten to twenty costs $1,100. At $529 for ten gigabits the last column reads $52.90 per Gbps, the cheapest figure anywhere on the ladder — and the reason most people who outgrow five stop here rather than climbing.
The port, specified
What the line item is, in the words we will repeat on a ticket. A buyer asked us for all of this in writing before ordering, twice, and got a person instead of a page. This is the page.
- Rate
- 10 Gbps, symmetric. 1.25 GB/s in each direction, which is 4.5 TB an hour and 3,240 TB across a thirty-day month if you hold it flat.
- Sharing
- Unshared. The port is assigned to your server and nothing else transmits on it. No burst rate, no committed rate, no 95th percentile — one rate, yours around the clock. Above the port the fabric out of the building is shared with every other customer in that room, as it is on every network, and we would rather write that here than have you find it out later.
- Metering
- None. No transfer allowance, no fair-use clause, no overage line on any invoice at any volume, inbound and outbound alike. Pulling a few hundred terabytes in during a migration costs nothing.
- Price
- $529 a month, the same figure on 14 of our 18 configurable lines — the port does not get cheaper on a small machine or dearer on a large one. $449.65 a month on a twelve-month cycle.
- Sustained use
- There is no volume at which the connection is deprioritised, shaped or flagged, because nothing is counting to trigger it. Holding the port flat is the case it is sold for. Tell us at order time if that is the plan, so the machine goes into a room with the headroom for it.
- Rooms
- New York, Miami, San Francisco, Amsterdam and Bucharest, chosen at order time. Who runs each building.
- Addresses
- One IPv4 included and IPv6 free; up to 8 IPv4 at checkout on the widest lines, more from the second month with a stated use. Port 25 is open.
- Delivery
- A configured build, not a shelf machine — nothing we keep racked and ready carries a port this size — so 4 to 24 hours from the order being approved.
- Contract
- Month to month, no notice period, no renewal step-up. Three, six and twelve-month cycles take 5, 10 and 15 per cent off.
- Not included
- DDoS mitigation, which we do not sell on any line — put a scrubbing service or a CDN in front instead, and the unmetered port is exactly what makes that cheap, because clean traffic is never the thing you are rationing. An uptime percentage, because the agreement carries none; what it does carry is a failed part replaced within four hours of a telephone call, on a published credit ladder. What support covers.
What fits inside it
Nobody buys a port. They buy an audience, a catalogue or a download queue, and the port decides how many fit at once. Your per-viewer bitrate into 8 Gbps — ten, with a fifth held back as headroom, which is the figure our own support desk sizes to when somebody asks on chat.

The last column is how long one viewer at that bitrate takes to consume a terabyte. Transcoding those renditions on the same machine changes the sizing entirely, because then the processor is the limit rather than the port — live transcoding is its own page and its own arithmetic. In bytes rather than people: 1.25 GB/s, 4.5 TB an hour, 108 TB a day.

The third column is Amazon’s published on-demand egress rates — 100 GB free, then $0.09/GB to 10 TB, $0.085 to 50 TB, $0.07 to 150 TB and $0.05 above — applied to the same bytes. It prices moving data, not renting a server, and it is here because it is the number most people are escaping when they arrive on this page.
Instruments, not adjectives
Three ways to check this before you pay, and one for the day it is delivered. None of them needs an account or a sales call.
Round trip to each room, measured from this browser
A tilde means we have not managed to replace the estimate with a measurement from where you are sitting; we would rather show that than a number we invented. Each card opens that city’s public speed test, which pulls as hard as your own connection allows. The route out of our edge is on the looking glass — BGP, ping and traceroute from New York and Bucharest to any address you name, including the one you are reading this on.

Two things to know before you read the result and open a ticket.
iperf3 was single-threaded until version 3.16, and its own maintainers say that became the
bottleneck on high-bitrate tests — an older build will under-report a 10 Gbps port and blame the
network. And a single TCP connection across the open internet is a poor instrument at this rate, which
is what -P 8 is for. ESnet’s

would write. Your dashboard graphs the switch port every five minutes, and that is the measurement we
bill from and argue from.
The machine is the small number
This is the part that surprises people. On an entry build the port is most of the bill: the cheapest complete 10 Gbps machine we sell is $557.59 a month, of which $529 is the port. Across all 14 lines — a 2014 cartridge at one end, four Xeon Gold processors and 128 GB at the other — the whole figure moves by about $381. So do not shop for cores on this page. Pick the machine that fits the job and let the port be the port.

Entry build is the cheapest complete machine on that line in the shape the checkout opens on — its cheapest processor, smallest memory rung, default drives, one address — with the included port swapped for the ten. Not a “from” price assembled out of the cheapest of each column with a different specification printed beside it. Add memory, drives or addresses and the figure moves; the order page is the only authoritative total and it matches this one to the cent.
Price the job you actually have
Priced by the checkout’s own quote engine, so the figure is what you will be charged rather than a rate card retyped into a template; any one-off setup is itemised on the order page before you pay. The worksheet chooses from the rack and blade lines only — the cartridge lines above will sell you the same port, and for a machine whose job is to fill one we would rather put you on a bigger chassis and say so.
Out of range
Three readings that mean this is the wrong instrument. It is a large monthly line and we would rather sell you the right one twice than the wrong one once.
Asked before ordering
Every one of these arrived in a chat window before somebody bought. The answers are the ones we will repeat on a ticket.
02Is it genuinely unmetered — no fair-use clause, no throttling, no per-terabyte charge?
Genuinely unmetered. There is no transfer allowance, no fair-use clause and no overage line on any invoice, at any volume. Nothing counts your traffic in either direction, so inbound is free too and a migration costs nothing to pull in. The port speed is the only network charge that exists on the bill.
03What happens if I hold it near 10 Gbps continuously for weeks?
Nothing changes. There is no volume at which the port is deprioritised, shaped or flagged for review, because there is nothing counting to trigger it. Holding the port flat is the case it is sold for. Tell us at order time if that is the plan, so the machine goes into a room with the headroom for it.
04How many simultaneous viewers will a 10 Gbps port actually carry?
Divide 8 Gbps — ten with a fifth held back as headroom — by your per-viewer bitrate. At 720p and 2.5 Mbps that is about 3,200 people at once; at 1080p and 4.5 Mbps about 1,777; at 360p and 0.8 Mbps about 10,000. The table in section 03 does the arithmetic for the usual ladders. Transcoding on the same machine changes the answer, because then the processor is the limit rather than the port.
05Is DDoS protection included?
No, and we do not sell it on any line. If what you run attracts attacks, put a scrubbing service or a CDN in front of the server — the port being unmetered is what makes that cheap to do, because clean traffic is never the thing you are rationing.
06Can I announce my own IP space, with or without my own ASN?
Bring it to sales before you order rather than after. A letter of authorisation and a BGP session are both things we can discuss, and what is feasible depends on the room and the routing you need, so the network engineers answer it rather than a page. One IPv4 address is included with the server and IPv6 is free; up to eight IPv4 addresses can be taken at checkout on the widest lines.
07Are these offshore or DMCA-ignored servers?
No. The machines sit in New York, Miami, San Francisco, Amsterdam and Bucharest, the American contract is with Primcast LLC under New York law and the European one with Primcast Europe SRL in Bucharest, and section 3 of the terms lets us remove content that is illegal. If DMCA-ignored is what you are shopping for, we are not it, and it is quicker for both of us to say so here.
08Can I have 15 Gbps, or something between the rungs?
The ladder has fixed rungs and fifteen is not one of them, so the next step above ten is twenty. That step is the expensive one — ten gigabits is where the ladder is cheapest per gigabit, which is why most people who need more than five stop here. If twenty really is the shape of the traffic, the answer may be a second machine rather than a bigger port; ask and we will say which.
09Can I start smaller and move to 10 Gbps later?
Yes, and it is the usual path. The port is raised on the machine you already have, in a window you choose, with the same address, the same operating system and the same invoice. Nothing is reinstalled and nothing is migrated. You can go back down the same way.
10How long does one take to deliver, and what is the contract?
A 10 Gbps machine is built rather than taken off the shelf — nothing we keep racked and ready carries a port that size — so reckon on 4 to 24 hours from the order being approved. Billing is month to month with no contract and no notice period; three, six and twelve-month cycles take 5, 10 and 15 per cent off if you would rather commit.
