At OVHcloud, the setup fee on most dedicated servers equals the first month's price. On the Rise and Advance ranges it is waived only if you commit for 12 months or more.

01 Reasons to switch
OVH is one of the biggest hosts in the world, with data centers on four continents. That size suits some projects. If yours is a website, a game server, a radio station or a small business, you may want a simpler deal.
01First bill
On OVH's Rise range, the setup fee equals the monthly price, so on a monthly term your first invoice is double. Pick one of our ready servers exactly as listed and you pay the monthly price and nothing else. Change the build and a single $29 setup fee applies; the entry server has its own $13 one.
02Small start
Not every project needs a six-core Xeon. Our entry server is a low-power cartridge with its own processor, memory and SSD for $5 a month. It is a good home for a VPN, a small website or a test box, and you can move up to a bigger machine later.
03Control panel
Tick cPanel when you order and our team installs it for you. It costs $49.50 a month for up to 100 domains. If you would rather not pay for a licence, choose the ISPConfig panel, which has no monthly fee.
04Streaming
Run your website on a dedicated server and your internet radio station or live video channel on our streaming platform, all under one login. Our biggest radio plan carries up to 5,000 listeners at the same time. OVH rents servers only, so streaming means building it yourself.

We paired each server with the nearest OVH model in its class. Where theirs gives you more memory or newer chips, we say so. Where ours costs less or comes with less paperwork, you will see that too.

Our prices are read live from the order form and show the cheapest complete build of each server. You can add memory, disks or a faster port before checkout. OVH prices are its US dollar list prices for the base configuration, read on 3 October 2026 from us.ovhcloud.com and eco.us.ovhcloud.com. They can change at any time, so please check OVH's site before you decide.
03 North America
Many people know OVH through its big Canadian data center in Beauharnois, near Montreal. Here is when we can replace it and when we cannot.
+Good fit
New York is the closest of our cities to Toronto and Montreal, while Miami and San Francisco cover the south and the west coast. If your users are spread over North America, you can place a server in each region. Before you order, ping or trace your own address from our New York router on the looking glass.
−Not a fit
We have no data center in Canada. If a contract or a privacy rule says your data has to be stored there, OVH's sites in Beauharnois and Toronto are the better choice, and we would rather tell you now than after you move.

05 Switching
You do not have to switch everything at once. Leave the old server online until the new one is ready.
Write down the memory, disk space and port speed your OVH server uses today, then pick the closest machine on our price list. Not sure? Ask in chat and we will suggest one.
Install the same operating system, copy your sites and databases across, and test everything on the new IP address while your visitors still use the old one.
Shorten your DNS TTL the day before, run a final copy, then change your DNS records. Cancel at OVH once traffic has moved. Our migration guide has the full checklist.

Primcast is a good OVH alternative if you want a dedicated server in the US or Europe that you pay for month by month. Most ready servers have no setup fee, none has a minimum term, the port is unmetered, cPanel can be installed for you, and you can add radio or video streaming on the same account.
If your users are in Canada but your data can live outside it, a server in our New York data center is close to Toronto and Montreal. We have no Canadian data center, so if your data has to stay in Canada, OVH's Beauharnois or Toronto sites remain the better pick.
Yes. On its Rise, Advance and Scale servers, OVH charges a setup fee equal to one month's price. On Rise and Advance it drops the fee if you commit for 12 months or longer. Its budget Kimsufi servers also carry a setup fee. Our ready servers have none when you order them as listed, apart from $13 on the entry server.
In early October 2026, the cheapest Kimsufi servers you could order from OVH's US site were $20 a month plus a $20 setup fee. Two cheaper models are listed as coming soon. Our entry server is $5 a month.
No. Every port is unmetered, so the price depends on the port speed and never on how much data you send. You can choose a faster port on the order form.
Yes. Choose cPanel on the order form and our team installs it. The licence is $49.50 a month for up to 100 domains, plus $29.99 once for the installation. The ISPConfig panel is free if you want a panel without a licence fee.
A ready server is online about 30 minutes after your payment clears. A server built to your own specification takes up to 24 hours. Your login details arrive by email.
