A node that runs out of disk stops following the chain, so each build starts from what the chain's developers publish and adds room to grow. The price is the cheapest configuration in our catalogue that meets those numbers.

These are estimates from our configurator, which shows the final price before you pay. A server built to your specification has a one-time setup fee of $29. Questions people ask before renting a blockchain server
01What is a blockchain server?
It is a server that runs a node of a blockchain network: it keeps its own copy of the chain, checks new blocks and passes them on to other nodes. On a dedicated server the whole machine does that one job, so the disk and processor are never busy with someone else's work.
02How much does a blockchain server cost?
It depends on the chain, because storage is most of the cost. A build sized for a Bitcoin full node starts at $72.59 a month. An Ethereum node needs a large NVMe drive and costs more. The table above prices one build per chain, and you can pay three, six or twelve months ahead to save up to 15%.
03How much disk does a Bitcoin full node need?
The full chain takes more than 750 GB and grows each year, and Bitcoin Core downloads around 740 GB on its first start. That is why our Bitcoin node server uses an SSD of nearly 2 TB. A pruned node needs far less space but cannot serve old blocks to other nodes.
04What hardware does an Ethereum node need?
The Ethereum documentation recommends a 4 TB NVMe drive, 32 GB of memory and at least four cores, and warns that 2 TB will soon be too small. Our Ethereum build follows that with a 3.84 TB NVMe drive and 32 GB of memory.
05Which node daemons do you install?
Bitcoin, Ethereum, Stellar and Lightning. Tell us on chat which one you want and we install it before handing the server over. For any other chain you get the same server with root access, ready for you to install the node yourself.
06How soon can my node start syncing?
A racked server is ready about 30 minutes after your order is approved, and a server built to order takes 4 to 24 hours. After that, the first sync takes as long as your chain needs to download its history.
07Will a node use up my bandwidth?
No. A full node can upload a lot of data to its peers every month, but the port on your server is unmetered, so there is no allowance to run out of and no overage charge.
08Can I pay for my node server with Bitcoin?
