Your iPhone and iPad app comes as a ready Xcode project. You build it on a Mac, upload it to App Store Connect, fill in your store page and send it to Apple for review. CarPlay is one more request to Apple, covered at the end.
Apple tweaks the wording of its screens from time to time. If a label doesn't match exactly, look for the nearest one that means the same thing.
There's nothing else to install: the project needs no plug-ins and no extra packages.
If your bundle ID isn't in the list, open your account at developer.apple.com, go to Certificates, Identifiers & Profiles → Identifiers, and add it there exactly as your control panel shows it.
The project already answers Apple's question about encryption for you, so your builds shouldn't stop at an export compliance question.
The app icon comes from the build itself, so there's nothing to upload for it.
Why your own account matters: Apple accepts apps made from a template only when the owner of the content submits them (guideline 4.2.6). Submitting from your station's own account is exactly that.
Apple decides which apps may appear in cars, so CarPlay needs its permission first.
Later on: updates work the same way. Build again, upload, and submit a new version. Schedule changes, new streams and links never need one: the app reads them from your station profile.
