Contabo's cheapest dedicated server is a €149/mo 12-core Ryzen excluding VAT, cPanel is a paid add-on, streaming isn't offered at all, and their own US East option warns that provisioning "can take up to 10 days". Primcast starts at $5/mo and runs radio and video on the same network, and our AMD EPYC line undercuts theirs where it matters: 32 cores for $347.78 against €399.00, 64 cores with a third more memory for $472.98 against €699.00.
Contabo sells budget hardware. Primcast sells a running platform, on both sides of the Atlantic.
Contabo sells AMD exclusively, so every card below pits our AMD EPYC builds against theirs at a matching core count - not a Xeon against a Ryzen.
No comparable server offered
Contabo's smallest dedicated server is the AMD Ryzen 12 Cores at €149.00/mo excl. VAT - 64 GB and 1 TB NVMe whether you need it or not, plus €8.10-€11.25/mo if you want it in a US data center. Below that price they only sell shared-host VPS instances.
Same core count, same memory, and we come in over €50 lower before their US location fee - with radio and live video on the same network.
64 cores either way - but ours carries 256 GB against their 192 GB and still lands more than €200 below them.
Specs and prices above were taken from contabo.com and its configurator in August 2026. Contabo quotes before VAT and adds your local rate at checkout, which turns €149.00 into €177.31 in Germany and the twelve-month prepaid €134.10 into €162.26 in Romania - €141.55 if you prepay three. Their dedicated range carries no setup fee, though non-EU regions add €8.10-€36.00 a month. One place they win outright: the 24-core Genoa at €199.00, against $337.78 for ours. Our EPYC builds ship from New York and Bucharest.
Where the platforms really differ: geography, what's in the box, streaming and who you can call.

Contabo is a strong pick at one specific point - their 24-core Genoa is the cheapest way to rent that many cores in a German rack, and we'll say so. Primcast is what you pick when you want a running platform instead of a box: radio and live video on the same network with no per-viewer fees, an entry server at $5 instead of €149, a US machine live in five minutes rather than "up to 10 days" and with no location fee, and 32- and 64-core EPYC that costs less than theirs. From $5/mo, with free migration off Contabo - sites, workloads and streams - with little to no downtime.
