Follow each step carefully to configure SamCast for live audio streaming with your Primcast server credentials.

Open the Statistics window

To enable your SHOUTcast Statistics Relay, click on the Statistics button in the SamCast window.

Add a SHOUTcast statistics relay

After the Statistics Relay window opens, click the + button to add a new relay. Select SHOUTcast statistic relay from the list and click OK.

Enter your Primcast server credentials

In the Host section, enter your Primcast SHOUTcast stream address, port number, and streaming password. Once saved, right-click the graph and select Force Update to connect immediately.

Where your encoder settings are

Log in to your Primcast dashboard, go to Radio, pick your station and open the Go live tab. The Encoder settings block has every value with a copy button; press Show to see the password.

Choose Platinum Upgrade your station

Keep your encoder at or under your plan's bitrate: Free 32 kbps, Premium 128 kbps, Platinum 320 kbps. Starting 20 October 2026, a Free station's encoder that goes over 32 kbps gets disconnected, and the Encoder settings block shows the reason.

Common questions about setting up SamCast for live audio streaming with Primcast.

Where do I find my stream address, port and password?

Log in to your Primcast dashboard, go to Radio, pick your station and open Go live › Encoder settings. Every value your encoder asks for is listed there (server, port, mount, username, password) with its own copy button, and Show reveals the password. On Platinum the Nearest server block comes first, ingest.radio.primcast.com on port 14000, which connects you through our closest server. The table further down this page has both.

What relay type should I select?

Select SHOUTcast statistic relay when adding a new relay in SamCast. This is compatible with Primcast SHOUTcast servers.

The graph is not updating - what should I do?

Right-click on the statistics graph and select Force Update to trigger an immediate refresh. If it still does not update, double-check your server address, port, and password for typos.

Do I need a paid Primcast plan to stream?
